Early Morning Fire Ruled Arson

Clearwater Fire Investigators and the State Fire Marshal’s Office have completed their investigation into an early morning structure fire at 1601 Barbara Avenue in Clearwater on May 17, 2009 at 3:03 a.m. The fire was determined to be arson. Fire Investigators say an 8-year-old boy set clothes on fire in a bedroom of the home. The boy will be referred to a juvenile firesetter program.

One room of the house sustained fire damage. There was smoke damage through the remainder of the home. Damage is estimated at 30-thousand dollars. The home cannot be occupied in its present condition.
